The early 1970s brought another change to Valliâs life. He divorced Mary Mandel, his wife of thirteen years in 1971. By 1974, however, he would be remarried--this time to Mary Ann Hannigan. Their union lasted only four years, however, and was over by 1979. Valli has consistently refused to divulge information about his personal life in interviews, and little is known of his marriages or why they failed. In an interview he gave to People Magazine in 2008, Valli did note, âPeople don't get married to get divorced. Maybe people weren't meant to be together forever."
